Ice climbing weekend Jan - 5+6 -08 - Day 2+3

Our 2nd climb on Sat Dracula.

Lower chute on Hobbit Coulior - 3rd and last climb Sat .

Jonathan on the CRUX - the ice is only 24-30" wide a bit overhanging and the bottom is mostly broken out . So getting you feet on the ice to get yourself up is very difficult. Jonathan resorted to the rock wall! Very cool strenous climb.

Steve - 1/3 of the way up Cinima Gully - Looking up at Party climbing above us - Crawford Notch Sunday .
1/3 way up looking down.

1/3 of the way up looking down the valley.

Two Guys working a new Mixed route on the bottom wicked overhanging left lower wall of Hitchcock upper Gully.

Upper Hitchcock Gully Sunday

Goofing off at the end of the day

Jonathan + I did two days in Crawford Notch this past weekend.

Sat: Standard route right up the center (2 pitches), then Dracula right side + Hobbit Couloir (crazy hard) .
Sunday: Cinema Gully (made 4 pitch climb into two - with free solo easy first pitch and simo climb last pitch), Upper Hitchcock Gully + East face Slabs Right.

It was warm yesterday - ICE is already melting a lot - I’m afraid what this warm week will do up north!! Stupid winter weather…

I’m Beat to Sh!t today – sore as hell it’s tough getting older…

I will put pic’s on BLOG at lunch or tonight.
