SAT & SUNDAY Jan 30-31 2010

Close to BEST EVER Mtn bike riding weekend........

Did 3 hours SAT two seperate rides. First ride 10:00 Am 9 degrees Jeff M & I did 2.5 hours ( 11 degrees after ride- COLD ) . Then I did a 30 min Rail trail ride to check out some local ice. It was beat to hell from the rain..

Sunday 2 hours .. What a blast ........ DAve H + Jason + Jim on his 29'ed & I had a great ride .


Trails were icy and snowy so these keep me going forward - uphill & straight ......

After finishing the Sunday MTN BIKE ride with bike on the back of the CAR I went WEST to THOMASTON for some very fun ice climbing.

DAK's ICE CLIMBING TRIP DAY #3 1/24/2010

Cascade we walked right down the middle of this lake to get to Three Flows.

Three Flows : Lots of ice for sure ..........

3 flows on the walk up.........

Same route from right below ... JDW did right side just left of BLUE column for 1st lead of the day ( It was steep ) .

2nd rappel line I did route in the corner left of ropes

Route across the street --- it was like 20 degees warmer in the sun snow all slushy and ICE snow cone like .

Desperate moves require desperate protection ..........

Overheard I don't like this screw ( the ICE is soft ) so I'm going to sling a tree........

Yah that will work for sure .............

It's off to the Dak's @ 5:00 am again for three days of ICE climbing.. Hotel has WiFi so plan is to add Pic's Friday & Sat night from the days adventures.....
