For starters this week - The Tuesday night Mtn Bike ride was again a strong ride for the OLD MAN !! WE had a small group ( Ken, Scott + Doug) but again my legs were strong and I was still pulling sprints up to the last final hills when I'm normally sucking wind + legless !! This is very good and I will state for the record that I'm over the Lymne Disease and my fitness level is A-OK. Any bad rides in the near future I will need to find a new excuse.
The only issue was the deep leaves Fall is in full swing for sure in Ct. with the trail basically buried and small rocks not visiable at all. Tough in the dark- but no incidents, this will be the case for several weeks !!
Jon ,Andrew + I also did a rail trail ride Wed night for maybe 12 miles . Andrew is 15 and basically not a bike rider ( so he needs to be whipped into shape for sure) . Jon is just plain strong but also needs to get in a bit better bike shape. Jon is riding a lot lately and I'm very proud he is putting so much effort into his biking fitness, He also hits the Gym quite a lot. We did a leasurly ride from Andover up to Bolton Notch and Jon wanted to do some Interval sprints . So every once and a while Jon + I would sprint out Butts off , then we would wait for Andrew to catch up. Andrew was riding Mike's bike and he was not familer with the grip shift. Anyhow I felt I got some good leg work outs as they feel a bit sore after the second day of riding this week.
